In this post I want to announce the DataWeekender 6.5 schedule is now live. Plus, I highlight some of the sessions at DataWeekender 6.5.
In reality, all our sessions are great and there are too many to cover in one post. Which is why I only highlight a some in this post.
All the session times shown on the schedule are in the time zone set on your computer. Which is usually your local time zone. You can register to attend the conference by clicking on this DataWeekender 6.5 Meetup link.
Just to confirm DataWeekender 6.5 is on November 4 and starts at 9am Central European Time (CET). Which is 8am UTC. You can convert the time using the World Time Buddy website here for certainty.
A big thanks to everybody who submitted to speak at DataWeekender 6.5. In addition to contributing to our event you also helped us plat a lot of trees in our tree-nation forest. Which I covered in an older Valentines Day post.
DataWeekender 6.5 recap
Just a quick recap for you all. DataWeekender is a free online conference for the Microsoft Data Platform community. Organized by a team of six volunteers in their own time.
It was the first online Microsoft Data Platform event to appear back in 2020 to make up for cancelled or postponed events around Europe. Because we are so proud of what we have achieved in the past we are going do it for a fifth time.
Just like the before we have put a special stamp on it by naming it 6.5. As a homage to SQL Server 6.5. For those interested, I found an old post from 1996 online that covers when Microsoft shipped SQL 6.5.
It will take place on Saturday November 4. Everybody around the world is welcome to register and watch online. All you need is an internet connection. Details on how to connect so that you can attend are distributed closer to the event.
You can register to attend DataWeekender either through this DataWeekender 6.5 Meetup link or by clicking on the below logo.
By the way do you notice anything new about the DataWeekender logo? That is right it has been fabricized (non-existent patent pending) with a Microsoft Fabric logo.
DataWeekender 6.5 schedule
As you can see on the DataWeekender 6.5 schedule we also have plenty of variety again. With fantastic sessions covering whole spectrum of application and services. Including Azure Data Engineering services, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server.
We have great speakers from all around the world speaking during the day.
For instance, we start the day with a fantastic combination of sixty-minute sessions at 9am Central European Time (CET). Including speakers from around the world including Warwick Rudd in Australia and Taiob Ali in the United States of America.
We also have some new speakers with little or no experience speaking during the day. Including sixty-minute sessions by Olga Dontsova and Roman Tesolkin.
Plus, a session about Power BI Dashboards by first-time speaker Lakshmi Ponnurasan. Who wrote the best abstract by a first-time speaker that I have ever read. You can decide for yourself by reading her abstract in the schedule.
In addition, we have a co-presented session by Maria Gabriel and Bruno Mairos.
We also have really great lightning talks as well.
For instance, Stephanie Bruno and Shannon Lindsay are going to cover one of the biggest mysteries of modern times in ten-minutes as they demystify Fabric and Power BI licensing.
Plus, we have other great lightning talks from speakers such as Lucrecia Krause, James Reeves and Milos Radivojevic.
We will be finishing the day with a fantastic line-up as well. Including sessions from speakers such as Deborah Melkin and Jeroen ter Heerdt.
