Best piece of career advice that I ever received
I must admit, I gave this some thought. Because there have been a few good pieces of advice given to me over the years. In the end, I chose one from early on in my career.
Early in my career I was told by somebody they preferred to work with certain applications because they did not like Microsoft, and that I should do the same. Which I was a bit surprised about because I had used Microsoft products beforehand.
Afterwards, somebody more senior in the business told me that I should make my own mind up which products I wanted to work with.
It must have stuck with me. Because years later and I have built up a good reputation from working with Microsoft products. Plus, I am currently a Microsoft Certified Trainer and a dual-category Microsoft MVP.
Final words
So, that is the best piece of career advice that I ever received. Make your own mind up about which products you are interested in.
Unless it is me trying to persuade you to learn Microsoft Fabric of course. Which I covered in a few posts, including my previous post about creating your own Microsoft Fabric environment.
Of course, if you have any comments or queries relating to this post feel free to reach out to me.
