So, yesterday I presented Database Adventure at dataMinds Connect conference in Belgium. Which, is my unique session I have been presenting for some time now.
After presenting my unique session at events all around Europe including SQLBits I was very excited to be able to deliver it for the first time in the Benelux region.
You can find out more about the event in detail here.
Because I had added some new material especially for this event I was busy in the build up to it rehearsing the new material.
In reality, doing a session this complex takes a lot of work, especially since I must remember all the different outcomes.
In fact, I feel sorry for anybody who attempts to do a similar format because there is a lot of work involved in the preparation for it. Especially if you want to deliver it properly.
In addition, I had a surprise guest turn up. After watching me rehearse this session for around twenty months Mrs Chant finally got to see me present in person. Which I have to thank Stijn Wynants for.
It was my first visit to Mechelen, and hopefully it will not be my last. I had some very good feedback about my original session format and its concept. So, I would definitely return given the opportunity.
Benni De Jagere and rest of the team did a fantastic job for this event. It’s a fantastic venue at a great location.
A big personal thanks for giving me the opportunity to present there.
Next stop for me and my session is SQL Saturday Sofia this Saturday. For those of you attending I will see you there.
[…] Which includes two SQL Saturdays and of course the dataMinds Connect conference. You can read my last post about speaking at dataMinds Connect in detail here. […]
[…] As you can imagine this kept me very busy leading up to dataMinds Connect. Which you can read my post about presenting there in detail here. […]
[…] What’s the worse that can happen you might be asking yourself. Well let me explain in this fictional scenario which is based on extract from a session I discuss here. […]
